A myth is a traditional story that has been told by people for hundreds of years.

This is a page from a Greek myth. Ancient Greeks created the myth, and it has been retold for hundreds of years.

Like other stories, myths have characters. Arion is the main character of this myth. He’s a human. But some myths have characters that are not human.

This myth describes a personal connection between Arion and dolphins. Other myths help people explain their history or beliefs about some things. 

Many of the Greek myths take place on islands or around the sea.

Since myths were first told long ago, there may be several different versions of this story. Someday you may read another story about Arion that’s not exactly like this one.
