“That's my letter,” said Lan.

“It's an L.”

“Yes, it is,” said Grandfather.

“May I have it?” asked Lan.

“Yes,” said Grandfather.

“Here it is.”

Lan cut out the letter.

“I need two more letters,” said Lan.

“An A and an N.”

He looked and looked.

“That's my letter——A,” said Lan.

He cut it out.

“Good,” said Grandfather.

"One more to go, " said Lan.

He looked and looked.

Lan glued all the letters.

"L-A-N," said Lan.

"That's my name!"

Then we learned the words that start with different letters.

Q: Which word starts with letter a?

A: Apple/astronaut/ant/alligator starts with letter a.

Q: Which word starts with letter b? 

A: Bib/bat/ball/bell starts with letter b.

Q: Which word starts with letter c? 

A: Carrot/cow/car/cub starts with letter c.

Q: Which word starts with letter d? 

A: Dinosaur/dog/doll/duck starts with letter d.

Q: Which word starts with letter e? 

A: Elephant/elk/elf/engine starts with letter e.

Q: Which word starts with letter f?

A: Feather/fork/fish/football starts with letter f.
