Today Detective Dan was called to help at Jill’s flower store. Jill had a big money mystery.

Jill dropped all her money on the floor, and thinks she may have lost some.

“Okay, let’s subtract how much you spent and add how much you made each day.” said Detective Dan.

“Today is Friday. Do you know how much money you had on Monday?” asked Detective Dan.

“Yes, let’s look at my calendar. I had 20 cents on Monday.” said Jill.                       

“How much money did you spend on Tuesday?” asked Detective Dan.

“I spent 2 cents.” said Jill.

“Okay, if you spent 2 cents then you should have__18__cents after Tuesday.” said Detective Dan.

“Okay, let’s subtract how much you spent and add how much you made each day to find how much money you have left.” said Detective Dan.
